Children's Programs

Join us for our Summer Reading Activities.  Click on the link for a list of what we have planned.  Summer Reading

Every teacher will tell you that they can tell which students have spent time reading over the summer months.  Those who have not read or been read to for three months will almost surely lose academic ground.  Because of this need, we participate in the Collaborative Summer Library Program each year.  The youth services departments of all the public libraries in Skagit County work together to bring in fun and interesting programs and projects to entice families into the libraries.

Another way to engage readers: audiobooks and ebooks available for checkout online...

And, of course, we hold Story Time each Friday morning at 11.  We welcome babies through pre-school aged children and their care-givers.  Come each week or drop in when you can. The more the merrier!  Activities are adapted on the spot to fit those present.  Singing, dancing, finger plays, books.

Watch for Craft activities for children posted on our website, Facebook, in the library and La Conner Weekly Newspaper.
For babies who don't crawl much yet, ask for the baby mat at the front desk. It's a soft spot to play or read or relax.
